NFL Preview By Sal B.

AFC

North
Ravens 12-4
Steelers 10-6
Bengals 8-8
Browns 4-12

I think the Steelers hold up ok with Big Ben (everyone's saying 2-2, but even at 1-3 they aren't dead), but the Ravens are the class of this division and anyone who thinks otherwise is underestimating Joe Flacco. Bengals should be solid, Browns still suck.

South
Colts 13-3
Titans 10-6
Texans 8-8
Jaguars 6-10

Peyton Manning is not a man you bet against, he just keeps doing it. I expect a very good year for Vince Young who also just seems to win games. Arian Foster gives the Texans a good running game but despite his fantasy prowess, Matt Schaub has a tendency to throw bad int's at the worst possible times. Finally, I'm not buying that Mo-Jo is 100% and Garrard is done.

West
Chargers 11-5
Raiders 7-9
Chiefs 5-11
Broncos 5-11

This is the Chargers division to lose, and they won't. Raiders have potential to go 8-8, but I'll take a slightly less optimistic 7-9 with upside for improvement next year The Chiefs and Broncos are both in rebuild mode.

East
Patriots 11-5
Jets 9-7
Dolphins 9-7
Bills 3-13

Jets fans are gonna lose it over this, but it's a reflection on the genuine difficulty of their schedule and my personal lack of faith in Mark Sanchez. Of course they can make the playoffs, and there's a good shot they prove me wrong, but they have a giant bullseye on their backs and you can never count out the Patriots. I hate them but they never go away. The Dolphins will also be good and the Bills are the doormat of the AFC.

NFC

North
Packers 12-4
Vikings 9-7
Lions 7-9
Bears 5-11

I'm a big believer that the Packers are the class of the NFC. Good defense + great QB + weapons will make them tough to beat in January. The Vikings are gonna drop off, I feel like Favre is very due for a bad season or injury and this seems like as likely a time as any. The Lions are trending up, though at 7-9 I'm higher on them than most and the Bears falter for having nearly no offense to speak of.

South
Saints 12-4
Falcons 11-5
Panthers 5-11
Buccaneers 3-13

The champs still reign supreme in this division, but I'm a big believer in Matt Ryan and the Falcons and they have great playoff potential. The Panthers can't go far after losing Peppers and with Matt Moore as a QB and Tampa is a mess.

West
49ers 11-5
Cardinals 7-9
Rams 4-12
Seahawks 4-12

Onward to the worst division in pro football. The Rams and Seahawks will be bottom feeders and the 9ers should FINALLY break through as long as Alex Smith can be decent. The Cards are worse, but I don't predict a 5-11 apocalypse like many, and who knows maybe theyre lurking at 3-5 and they get Kurt to come back... who knows.

East
Cowboys 11-5
Redskins 10-6
Giants 10-6
Eagles 7-9

From the worst division to the best, I LOVE the NFC East. All 4 teams have a shot at the playoffs, but I bump the Eagles from a lack of faith in Kolb. I think the Redskins are getting badly slept on and may very well match the G-Men to force a tiebreak and squeak in. I like Dallas in the regular season and not in the playoffs, as per the usual.

Playoffs

Wild Card Games
Cowboys over Redskins
Falcons over 49ers
Chargers over Titans
Steelers over Pats

Divisional games
Falcons over Saints
Packers over Cowboys
Colts over Steelers
Ravens over Chargers

Conference Championships
Packers over Falcons
Ravens over Colts

Super Bowl Champions - Green Bay Packers (maybe I'm early, but I LOVE Aaron Rodgers)

MVP - Rodgers
OPOY - Chris Johnson
DPOY - Patrick Willis
OROY - Ryan Matthews
DROY - Ndamukong Suh

  2. With no injuries, Pats are not losing in the Wildcard. Patriots love this position they are in. Nobody is picking them to win it all, so there is no pressure.
